Northcote Painters 3070
Northcote Painters. This week, Melbourne City Maintenance completed a weatherboard home in Northcote 3070.
The owners of this particular house had been living there for 10 years, and couldn’t afford to repaint the house when they first bought it. The landlord had expressed some concerns since the property had not been maintained for nearly two decades. As a result, the exterior was starting to absorb water during winter, which was causing damage to the walls inside the building.
Upon consulting with our team at Melbourne City Maintenance, our professionals inspected the house and provided a rundown of the restoration jobs that needed to be attended to – everything from replacement of rotten weatherboards, sanding to remove the flaking paint, filling of gaps and cracks, and two coats of high quality exterior low sheen paint.
The owners were somewhat worried that the exterior of their house was beyond repair, especially since there hadn’t been any maintenance done in the last twenty years. But our professional painters advised the clients that sometimes the damage looks far worse than it really is, and that this is often the case when houses are in desperate need of a new paint job. Once they were walked through the process and started seeing subtle changes in the early stages, they felt optimistic and at ease.
The team started by removing all the flaking paint, then all gaps and cracks were filled, rotten boards were replaced and the they applied two coats of exterior low sheen paint. The owners of the house were incredibly pleased with the final result. They couldn’t believe how different their house looked just from a new paint job – as good as brand new!
